Scentwork & Mantrailing – 6 Week Course Venue: Callander K9 Dates: Starting - Thursday 21st May • Thu 28 May • Thu 4 June • Thu 11 June • Thu 18 June • Thu 25 June Time: 5.30pm Price: £150 Let your dog lead the way – with their nose! Scentwork taps into your dog’s most powerful sense – and is one of the most enriching, calming, and confidence-boosting activities you can do together. It’s perfect for high-energy dogs, anxious dogs, reactive dogs, and dogs who thrive with purpose and structure. You’ll learn shaping techniques to help your dog problem-solve and search independently – without needing to be micromanaged. This course is inclusive of all breeds and abilities and is ideal for dogs who prefer space or need a calmer outlet. Course Curriculum Week 1 – Scent / Nose Work Foundations The science of scent How scent games help with confidence, regulation, and focus Presenting the scent (e.g., clove or Kong) Building value in the find Week 2 – Building Desire Reinforcing the indication (find = reward) Practicing active searches Marker training and scent pairing Week 3 – The 3D Challenge Distance: Can your dog search further away? Duration: Will they stay on task longer? Distraction: Can they ignore the world and focus? Week 4 – Creative Searches Object retrievals Scent in and around obstacles Confidence-building through novelty and scent games Week 5 – Mantrailing (Intro) Learning what Mantrailing is and how it works Scent ID and intro to “find your human” Dogs learn to trail the scent of a missing person (you!) Week 6 – Mantrailing (Advanced Practice) Full search scenarios: Can they find your item? Can they find you? Watching your dog problem-solve with purpose Celebration trail and certificate Who can join? Dogs - Any age with no extreme respiratory issues. This course is perfect for reactive, nervous, or overexcitable dogs needing focus and fulfilment in a supportive space. All searches are tailored to your dog’s confidence and experience level. Cancellation Policy
Callander K9 – Playground Policies & Rules Booking & Cancellation Policy • Bookings must be made in advance via our online system. • Cancellations made more than 4 hours before the session may be refunded or rescheduled. • Cancellations within 4 hours of the booking are non-refundable. • Maximum of 2 entire male dogs (12 months and older) per booking. If more are brought, the session may be cancelled with no refund. • Female dogs in season are not permitted in the playground. No XL bullies or banned breed dogs allowed General Terms of Use • Owners and dogs enter Callander K9’s playgrounds at their own risk. Callander K9 accepts no liability for you, your dog(s), or those accompanying you whilst on our property, in the carpark, or walking to and from our playgrounds. • We reserve the right to decline or restrict access if any rules are broken. • CCTV is in operation for everyone’s safety. Playground Rules 1. Dogs must remain on lead outside of the secure area. 2. Dogs are only permitted in the area you have booked. 3. Pick up after your dog(s) and use the bins provided. 4. All dogs must be back in the car before the end of their session. 5. Do not leave dogs unattended at any time. 6. Do not allow dogs to dig. 7. No climbing on fences, gates, or dog equipment by children or adults. 8. No litter or food to be left in the field. 9. Keep dogs in your vehicle until the previous user has safely left. 10. No out-of-hours use — gates will be locked. 11. If your dog has had sickness or diarrhoea in the last 48 hours, please reschedule. 12. Report any illness after using the park, or any damage to equipment. 13. Shut gates properly behind you. 14. Stay within your booked area; the rear track is not for public use. 15. Facilities: • First aid kits (for dogs & humans) and emergency contacts are at the water station shed. • Fresh, sanitised water bowls are available at the water station. Please return used bowls to the bin provided. • Wash stations include clean water, towels, shampoo & a Mud Daddy. Used towels must go in the laundry bin. Code of Ethics • No choke chains, prong collars, or electronic devices. • No harsh handling of dogs — verbal or physical Only dogs that know and socialise well with each other should share an area.
